MISSION STATEMENT & OBJECTIVES

MISSION:
To raise public awareness and improve the quality of life by creating safer communities through education and reduction of crime opportunities. We shall achieve our mission through partnership with public, police private and corporate sectors and all levels of government.

OBJECTIVES:
1. To evaluate effective crime prevention programs.
2. To provide leadership in effective crime prevention
initiatives.
3. To provide advice/information on cost-effective crime prevention programs.
4. To create partnerships with local crime prevention boards.
5. To regularly communicate our activities.
6. To publish and make available an annual report.

The Association meets on a regular basis, generally on the last Tuesday of each month, except in July, August and December. The meetings are currently a luncheon meeting at the New Minas RCMP office.

WHO ARE WE
The Kings Crime Prevention Association was formed as a citizen's advisory group to work together with the RCMP in the prevention of crime. Our organization consists of members from various walks of life and areas within the community serviced by the Kings Detachment of the RCMP.

The committee is a non-profit organization with the goals of reducing community crime and working in conjunction with other community groups with the same aims and objectives.

Kings Crime Prevention Association is a proud member of the Crime Prevention Society of Nova Scotia which was formed in 1989 where KCPA was an original member.
